We have almost been here a week!

It is hard to believe that we have almost been here a whole week. I was thinking about what we were doing at this time last week. My house was full with team members and we were making sure everyone had everything they needed.... it was pure chaos! All of us were a little uncertain what to expect or what we would be doing once we got here. What a difference a week makes. We are all loving our time here. Many of us got a chance to go to local schools today. Bree, Eric, and I went with Mrs. Waite to a Christian school in the area for chapel. The rest of the girls went with Mrs. Kirkland to a local primary school to help tutor. Both groups came back with similar stories - we all fell in love with the children. They were all so sweet and friendly. They loved us and wanted to talk and talk! We loved getting to interact with the children. While we were at the schools, the boys went up to the FM transmitter to work. The FM transmitter is on what they call Boggy Peak or now officially Mount Obama. The mountain was a birthday present for president Obama. They cleared some brush and worked hard in the heat again. I am trully amazed at all they are doing. Ben got to climb to the top of the tower and get some great pictures. I will have to borrow his camera tomorrow to post them to the site. We all went back to the station at lunch time. The boys finished up the fence project and continued painting. The girls went back to editing. Taheshah got to be the person to do the Live shift today. She did great!
The girls then went to Nancy Kirklands house for an after school girl's time. Kristine had a great craft for everyone and Jessiejane gave a good challenge on having a personal relationship with Christ. We enjoyed getting to interact with the girls as well. The age range was from 11-18. While we were there, the boys relaxed and went snorkeling at a nearby beach. They deserved it after all of their hard work. We can't believe that we only have 1 more week left. I think it is safe to say that the whole team would stay longer if they could.

The school that Bree, Eric, and I got to go to today. Sorry I don't have the other school pics yet.

  2. It's been exciting to read each day how the Lord is using each member of the team. We continue to pray for the people of the island that the gospel will penetrate their hearts as God uses each of you.
