Sunday in Antigua

Today was a great day on the island. We went to two different churches and had a great ministry in both. We had Sunday School and morning service at the first church. Two young men preached - Nate Warrick had Sunday School and Scott Jennings preached for church. Both did a wonderful job! We did the special music for both services. Tonight we went to another church and Jonny preached. We had more special music at that service. It was a blessing to see believers in another country and see the fellowship that we can have together. Both churches were so open and friendly!
The most recent adventure we have had is we finally were able to rent a van to hold all of us. That is a huge answer to prayer. The missionaries were having to adjust their schedules and try to take us in lots of shifts. We were able to get the van for $30 US a day! They originally told me $80 and I was a little overwhelmed. It was more than we had budgeted. When I went to pay for the first few days, they told me I only owed a little more. I wanted to be honest so I told the lady that I had not paid as much as she said I did. She explained that the $80 was EC. What a relief! The only problem is Jonny is now our driver.... :) He has to drive on the opposite side of the car, on the opposite side of the road, with a stick shift, using a hand that is not what he is used to, and 13 back seat drivers. I think he needs some prayer. He is getting a lot of grief from the team (and his wife). Driving here is crazy! There are holes everywhere, people everywhere, and animals everywhere. We both had to get our Antigua driver's licenses - I don't plan to use mine.

We are having a great time together as a team. I think everyone is learning a lot. Everyone has been working so hard. We have been going to bed about 9:30 every night because the heat is wearing us out. Thank you so much for your continued prayers.

  1. Thanks for all the updates, Kat! So interesting. I'd love to have heard the guys preach, but I think I'd pass on riding with Jonny. ;-) JK. What a great answer to prayer that you got the van at a good price!

  2. Thanks, Kathryn, for the great updates and pictures. We're praying that the Lord continues to bless all the ministry opportunities.

BTW, is Eric staying up at night doing tarantula watch duty? He looks zonked in the last picture. ;-)
